FAQ

  1. How does being a member of an ATV club save you money on insurance?

Conservation officers have been checking ATV's being used on Forest Service Roads. Legislation requires that people register their off-highway vehicles and carry liability insurance. The Act also requires that operators have a valid driver's license held by the operator. The fine associated with the violation, and several people have been fined recently for non-compliance is about $578.00. This would pay for the insurance for over three years at the current rates.

  2. What are the main benefits of belonging to a Club?

  3. Riding with friends
  4. Eligible for discount benefits for insurance premiums
  5. Monthly rides or events: 3
  6. Campouts: 4 or more
  7. Meeting new people with similar interests
  8. Club is insured for liability for group Club events by ATV/BC
  9. Protecting and insuring your right to ride in your local area

  10. Why should I join ATV club or ATV association?

To meet people with similar interests, participate in events put on by the club and help develop trails.

  11. What should we carry with us on a ride?

Since every person has their own list of things they like to carry with them when they go for a day/weekend trip, this list is by no means "law" as to what should be carried with you. It is up to you to decide what is important to you, for the trip you are going on and how much room you have while on your journey. Some of the basics you should try and carry while riding in the north are:

    1. First Aid Kit
    2. Small Tool Kit
    3. TIRE REPAIR KIT
    4. A small Air Compressor
    5. Tow Rope.  DO NOT USE A CHAIN.
    6. Fire Starter Materials
    7. A Chainsaw
    8. Communication devices
    9. Spot Satellite Messenger (if you have)
    10. Food (extra).

  12. Can I make my ATV faster?

All atvs can be made to go faster by improving fuel, air and exhaust flow. It should also be noted here that typically performance kits void manufacturer warranties. They often also make reliable engines less trustworthy, usually in proportion to the extremeness of the modification.

  13. Is ATV legal in my state?

ATV is legal in most states. Since each state has different state laws and requirement, we do not guarantee all scooters or vehicles sold to be street legal or registerable. Please check with your local DMV for state specific requirements such as registration, age requirements and helmet laws prior to any purchase.

  14. Where can I ride my ATV?

On designated ATV trails, land open by landowner policy or where you have landowner permission.

  15. Are you allowed to ride an ATV on a road right-of-way?

You can travel up to 500 yards to cross a road on the extreme right travel way. You can travel further on extreme right travel way if it is an authorized ATV access route.

  16. What are the manufacturers’ recommendations for engine size for youth operators?

Manufacturers recommend ATVs with an engine size of 90cc or greater for those 16 years and older; 70cc to 90cc for youth ages 12-15; and less than 70cc for ages 6-11.

  17. Do I have to wear any special clothing while driving ATV?

Yes, Shirts, long pants & shoes or boots must be worn at all times. Also we suggest you dress for the weather ~ when there is mud, wear mud pants & old foot wear; when driving in the winter, wear warm clothing, especially leather gloves & warm foot wear. Approved helmets must be worn and must fit properly. A helmet cannot be put over a hat or other article encompassing the head area.
